WAS THE NEWSLETTER #86

The Office Supplies Launch

#86

I’m Paige Wassel. WAS the Newsletter is your weekly dose of design inspiration, where we are vintage, curated, and open for business. Sort of.

MY KIND OF SUNDAY FUNDAY

After months of sanding, sourcing, lugging, styling, photographing, planning, pricing… I could go on… the very first Office Supplies launch is finally happening.

WHAT IS OFFICE SUPPLIES, ANYWAY?

Well, it’s mainly Kate and I’s design office (now you see where the name came from). But because we are technically a storefront, we must have something to sell right? We are selling primarily vintage pieces but will also often have products from WAS and Studio Leonard.

Kate and I have been quietly (unless you follow my IG, I have definitely been showing off some of the pieces) collecting since January. But this is the first drop of curated finds, and it’s a little mix of everything we love. We’re talking:

  • Glassware you actually want to use

  • Lamps with personality

  • Custom framed vintage art (these puppies will go fast)

  • Furniture that has been reupholstered with fabric we have sourced

  • Little thingys like candles, cups, spoons, fruit bowls… ya get the gist

We’ve also got a few Studio Leonard hand-carved spoons (only a handful, no pun intended), and some WAS merch—like pillows and totes. First come, first get.

THE DETAILS

Sunday, 7/27
IG Sale: 11AM (PST), LA pickup only, no shipping this round
In-Person Shop: 12–2PM, come hang, come shop, come whatever

THE PROP STYLING PROCESS (BECAUSE YOU’RE GONNA ASK)

If you’ve seen our photos and wondered, “Where’d they get that interesting background?”— It’s a rug pad. Not a rug. Not seamless paper. A rug pad.

Why? Because we’re not about to mess with annoying paper rolls that crease, tear, and get filthy every five minutes. The rug pad gives us texture, structure, and the ability to clean it.

Also, everything was styled by us and shot on Kates new iPhones, which we decided has the better camera. One photo per setup. No stress!!!!

HOW TO SHOP

If you want the best stuff, shop the Instagram first. If you want the full experience, come in person. If you want both, you’re our kind of people. We’ll see you Sunday!

P.S. This is just the first drop. We’re planning another before the end of the year. The plan is more pop-ups than permanent store hours (although we never say never), so keep your eyes on Instagram to know when things go live.

xx,
P
