DIGGING INTO BEDDING

I’ve been deep into bedding land lately. Like, way deep. Over the past year, I’ve been tasked with bedroom design for clients, so I’ve spent a ton of time rummaging through sheet sets, duvets, and coverlets. Spoiler alert? So much of it looks the same. Yeah, there’s a vast differential in quality, but the look is largely homogenous.

For all the risks I’ve seen taken in design, it kinda feels like bedding is the last frontier. Everything is so “safe” and neutral. It’s, like, all so polite. The upside is that some brands are finally stepping it up with stripes, with bolder colors, and with interesting patters. Along the way, I’ve found a few places that I hadn’t heard of before, so today I’m rounding them all up for you.

Here’s what’s so fun about bedding: your sheets are a this-week decision. Next week? You can go totally different. We change our sheets all the time, so why not actually change them? Bedding is a super simple place in your home to take a little risk. You want to mix patterns? Do it. Skip the matchy-matchy business? I support you. Personally, I love having different duvets and bottom sheets, accented with pillowcases that don’t “go”… except they somehow still work. And if you try to mix them up and you hate it, you can throw your plain sheets back on and we’ll never speak of it again.

So here’s what I’ve found that I love:

Listen, if you like this kind of roundup where it’s less about rules and more about vibes, let me know. Happy to do more of these, but I do want to know what you actually want to see. Ping me, DM me, carrier pigeon…whatever works.

xx,
P
